Hey everybody, I discovered a new store in the Sacramento area. It's called Bass and Beyond and it's a bassist's dream! Lots of boutique basses, like Zon, F Bass, Sadowsky, Elrick, Spector, etc. Anyway, they have three used Alembics on the used basses page - a white Europa 5-string, an Orion 5-string, and a 4-string Triple-Omega with Anniversary electronics.

I've only been in a couple of times, but it's really a neat store. I've only met Juan but he's a nice guy, today I happened to be in the area so stopped in and we talked about basses, cats, the slow disintegration of society - you know, the usual stuff! I only played a 6-string Dingwall - been kind of looking for a 6-string, but they don't have anything that really appeals to me in stock.

It was really exciting to find a new store - especially a bass-only store! "Northern California's only bass specific store" according to the website, and I think they're right! Gelb Music in Redwood City (south of San Francisco) has an amazing bass selection, but they carry other instruments. So stop in to Bass and Beyond if you're in the area!

(PS I do not work for Bass and Beyond and I am not affiliated with them in any way, other than the fact that I think it's a really cool store and hope to be a customer some day!)

Even though I prefer the natural wood colour on alembics, that is a delicious bass.

Unless it's changed hands recently, which I doubt, that bass belongs to "hippiesandwich" who has a presence on most of the bass bulletin boards. I've known him for a long time, and he's a good guy. Should anyone here speak with him, please tell him I said hello.

The Orion looks like bubinga to me. Nice electronics upgrade though.
