I have had this bass up for sale before on this site. There was some interest, but I guess my price was a bit high for that piece. I am going to list it again here to all the Alembic folk and friends with a lower price. If I get no bites I will be putting the bass on E-Bay. The bass is a 1983 Alembic Series 1. It is a 5 string bass with a graphite neck, and 32 inch scale. The top and back are Macassar ebony. BUT, the bass was sent back to Alembic to get the all black treatment. So I have no idea what the wood really looks like. According to the wood card that came with the bass, the body is all Macassar ebony with Macassar ebony accent stripes. The bass is in fine condition, but there is a spot on the back of the bass where some of the paint is worn off, but not down to the wood. It comes with it's original case, power supply and cord. The case is a bit beat and the latches on the case have been changed. I am asking $1500.00 for the bass.

The headstock looks very similar to the eight string scorpion in the John Entwistle auction:

Michael,

Very interesting. The electronics alone are worth that aren't they? I remember seeing this bass before. Is that a narrow string spacing???

Yes that is a narrow spacing. I have not measured them, but I suspect that the 4 string graphite bass I have and this one are the same dimensions, with an extra string added.
