Has anyone ever heard of a Soprano bass before?
There's one for sale at Bunnies. It's a 25" scale.
Something like a piccolo I guess but tuned in BEAD.

Very Nice indeed!
It seems it was a guitar before if I understand the text well. The "sex-changement-operation" was done by Alembic.

As for "picolo" basses: I've played one at my friend Edwin's place in Hilversum.

I know Edwin's piccolo as well (the bass that is), I also played it a bit, but that one is tuned EADG and this one BEAD. Also the electronics are different. I don't know about Edwin's little baby (again, I'm talking about his bass), but this one has series I electronics.

Paul, did you know that Edwin is waiting for a new EVH bass. It seemes to be similar to the one I owned. He used the picture of my old bass for it at: http://www.connectionbult.com/bass/bassmain.html

He's expecting it in a few months.

Best,
Manfred

Aha, he told me something about it! ...seems I have to go there and have a look.
Anyway I'm almost there in my saving-program for the SF-2 and the DS-5R so I defenitely have to go there.

Of course you were right on the electronics. I was just referring to the scale and the word "Piccolo".
