Hello all,
I have been looking up and down for a Series II 5 for a while now. Haven't we all? I know I'm not the only one... Anyways, if anyone has any leads, comes across one or is interested in letting one go, please let me know. I am a serious buyer. In the meantime, I will be searching the internet... Now where oh where could you be?

I have an 89 Series II 5 String. I haven't played it in about a year and a half. It's too nice of an instrument to just sit in the closet, so I have recently decided to sell it.

It's Indian Rosewood with a 36 inch neck. I have the original case, power supply and cable. It has a few small dings here and there, but is in really nice condition.

If your interested, let me know and I'll take some pictures.

All My Best,
Mark Von Lanken

Mark,
Please put me on the list behind Eric. I've been entertaining the thought of picking up a Series 5-string, but yield the floor to Eric because he spoke up first.
Thank you.

With the delivery of my new QCB, I am considering selling my 5er with S II electronics (it does not have LEDs, so it's not an S II in all respects). It's also a 36 inch scale. Coco top and back, with three ebony lams.

I have posted additional information as well as a video and pictures at this site. The video is 9 years old and it includes a couple of Distillates. I just took the pictures yesterday.

Hey Guyz, can anyone join in the discussion here? I would not mind having a five-string. Hey David, send me an e-mail on yours. I am interested, even if it has no LEDs and probably no omega cut. You said the magic words - ebony lams. I ain't afraid of no 36" neck! Got any extra amps laying around to go with it? Kidding, I still have a killer amp laying around with a pair of 21" Mongo Woofs and 4-10" JBL D-110s that can handle B strings. Let me know how things are going for you, too.

TKS

One of our distinguished "Senior Members" can always join in.

All is good. Will email you directly, but have been discussing the 15+ lb. beast with Eric. I'll get pix to you too so that you'll have them if things don't work out with him.

And you are correct, it's a point (not omega). But, it has nickel plating (am recalling that you prefer that look to the brass).

As always, good to see a post from you.

Hey David.

First come, first served. No problem on my end. Actually, I striped the chrome off of the 4 string you have, as I do not like chrome. I kind of regretted it, but not much. I like brass, and gold plating is best IMO. With brass, you always have a reason to pick the bass up and mess with it - lots of cleaning and polishing all the time. Nickel? I would not strip another one's hardware. Speaking of the 4 string - Anytime on that bass. I miss it greatly. When you and Eric get settled, if the 5 is still open, please let me know.

I love looking at pix of Alembic basses, so send all you want to. Sooner or later I will find another one to call my own, and I will come around more often. Take care and have fun.
