Bayou Cables recently started manufacturing Alembic Series cables (www.bayoucables.com). I recommend them, as they use the highest quality of parts, do impeccable work and offer great service. I'm an audiophile. I use several of their regular instrument cables on my Alembic Essence 6 and have been very pleased with their clarity.

I have a purple series cable I got from Bayou a year or two ago. I LOVE it.

I just ordered all new cables to recable my rack and basses. I hope to have them for some gigs that I have the week of 5/4. Butch seems to think they should be ready, my first new cables in many years.

I use a green cable. Purple would be real nice too! Anything but black. When they are black, folks try to pack them away with the mic cables. The Canare Star Quad cable comes in all kinds of colors. I even have a brown one that used to to with my walnut bass with tan pups.

I have not used Bayou cables myself, as I make my own. But I hear they are top notch!

I sure know about cable theft! [ahem, ah, "borrowing"]. You'd think in a church, people would leave them alone, but…

I use colored cables, too, for just that reason. I've found the more unusual the color, the better the chance I'll have them for a lo-o-o-ong time. :-)
