I just came from my local used shop, having fondled a very clean F2B. This one has the older big brass bridge, with strings through the body, Zebrawood top and back, and a practically flawless original finish. I did find one sizable ding on the back of the neck, near the body, but the finish is intact. Between the frets, the finish, and the overall appearance, it's the best looking 20+ year old instrument I've seen. And it played very nicely. Anyhow, Timewarp music in West L.A., Shane said he was going to ask $1200, and he often is willing to negotiate. In case anyone is interested...... Peace JBY

You startled me there - "a very clean F2B. This one has the older big brass bridge" ...

But of course this is a Kawai bass, not an Alembic preamp. Still curious why Kawai would have chosen that particular model number ...
