As I have moved from four strings to five strings over the last two years, it is time to offer my Mark King Standard 4 in Cocobolo for sale. It is truly an awesome instrument and is in 9.9/10 condition, but has gotten no playing time for the last two years. It needs to go to a good home where it will be played. The scale is 34". Serial # 01MJ12692. I purchased this bass several years ago from fellow Alembician Paul Schmidt. Here is the Showcase link which Paul provided: http://alembic.com/club/messages/411/3666.html?1109841528. I can provide pics upon request. Please email me at hasadari@hotmail.com with any interest. Thank you. Bob Brown |

By the way, the bass comes with a hard case in excellent condition. The bass has never been out of the house since I acquired it. |

Hi Bob, Hope all is well with you. Just a slight correction - the bass is 32", not 34". Wish it was coming back home to me, although I'm quite attached to my SC deluxe, not to mention my good ole' '85 Spoiler. |

Its a great bass and difficult to let go. It should be owned by someone who will play it often. It just remeasured and you are correct - it is a 32" scale. |

I think the feature of these pics (aside from my awesome bass to be) is Bob`s grounds and gardens as the back drop...(notice how I said "grounds" as opposed to back yard)... thats some very nice land you have landscaped and groomed there Bob. I hope to see some pics of your MK balance set against that backdrop...maybe with a sunset?? heh heh... |

Too funny. You are giving the Brown Plantation way too much credit. I will post pics of my MK 5 later in the week. Truth be told, we moved in last year and the landscaping had not been maintained since 1923. The landscaping which you see in the pics is the only area which I have redone so far. I work at the rate of about 20 feet (6m) per week ripping out, recutting beds, selecting plants and replanting. |

Thanks Bob, picked it up today, it is beautiful…thanks so much cheers heaps… I think Ill put some new strings on her soon, and thanks for the allen keys..and for being genuine !! you rock! Im just getting used to her… I plugged her into a countryman d.i and direct into the EAW 4 way 4000 watt p.a on stage and fed her through some Claire brother bi-amp wedges on stage and let her rip after I finished mixing the show tonight… she sounded very good although new strings will make a huge diffence. Customs cost me 13% of $4300 (newzealand value of the bass (coversion of $3000 u.s) expensive but worth it so far!! heh heh Ben |
