the post is a bit old, but as lefties aren't so common, I figured this might be a treat for someone.

The last I heard, last week, there was a deal pending on this bass. It seems probable to me that the sale has gone through and that the bass is in route. The bass is in very good condition; and the seller is a really nice guy.

Hi Guys. :-)

Robinc - My heart missed a beat when I saw your message, as I feared something had gone awry with my deal. As luck would have it though, I received confirmation from the seller this morning that all is well and my new baby will be shipping out tomorrow. :-) And you're absolutley right when saying it has a good home. :-)

David - Thank you (and Art) again for your support and checking the bass out prior to me making the deal. :-) After you guys met the seller and gave me the high sign, I had no reservations at all with sending a check to someone I'd never met living literally across the country. This was especially helpful as I had issues with Paypal and ended up sending a cashiers check in the mail. :0

Gotta love the Alembic Club! :-) Had you guys not helped, I can honestly say it would have been very difficult, if not even impossible to have followed through due to Paypal issues, distance and sight unseen etc. Heart felt thank you. :-)

Best Regards,

Kimberly :-)

PS. Pictures coming soon. ;)

sorry about that, Kimberly. It somehow managed to get by me that the post was over a week old and had already expired. Glad to hear everything is on track. Enjoy the bass!

Robin :-)

No harm, no foul, no prob, etc etc. :-)

I suspect enjoying my new baby won't be a problem. I was at Bass Northwest yesterday playing around on a couple six stringers to 'gimme a six string fix'. It was fun but the negative is the visit increased my 'wanna have it now' anxiety as I see wonderful things happening from adding a higher string to my material/act. :-)

From North Carolina he has to travel back to the mothership for:

Concealed hardware bridge to eliminate the need of routing the body, to move the bridge p/u forward to make room for a midi p/u. :-)

Upgraded electronics. Mica and me are talking about adding a filter and q switch and keeping the existing bass/treble controls intact. :-)

New nut and tail piece for 'upside down' stringing. :-)

And whatever else that comes to light when arriving at the factory and to mind, between now and coming home. :-)

Best Regards,

Kimberly :-)

Hi Guys. :-)

Dan - I sure hope so! Truly, it's all up to the mothership now. Matter of fact I just realized, in speaking with Mica, I neglected to ask for a completion/shipping date estimate. I'll have to look into this. That would be sweet if I do. :-)

Robin - Thanks! I suspect "when all is said and done" I'm going to be a pretty 'happy camper', or at least a 'happy camper'! ;D

Best Regards,

Kimberly :-)

Kimberly,
Adding the filter and Q-switch is basically upgrading to the East Meets West electronics. I selected EMW electronics when I had my fretless Orion built and have been very happy with them. I think you will like it a lot.

Hi Guys. :-)

Keith - 'Bassed' (sic) ;) on info from various threads I've gleaned here of late, I'm sure this upgrade is going to be well worth it, thank you. :-)

David - Thank you and thank you again! :-)

Art - I very much appreciate you and David getting together to go check out this instrument prior to me making the purchase. If there's ever a time where I could reciprocate the favor, say something at Bass Northwest for example, I'd be most pleased to be able to help. Please, don't hesitate to ask. :-)

Thanks to All! :-)

Best Regards,

Kimberly :-)
