Save yourself the heartache of trying to find a four leaf clover garethnh - bite the bullet, get your wallet out and phone Rob Green of status direct!

Great guy, great basses and actually good value for money when it comes to custom builds!

John,
but as with a B1, no go with Rob.
Believe me, he is not risking any judicial pressure from W..w..k.

Oliver is absolutely spot on. The Entwistle Estate signed an agreement with Warwick to produce the Buzzard. Warwick then threatened legal action against Status if they didn't cease and desist production of the B1. It's too bad - I've never liked Warwicks, and not just their version of the Buzzard. I know a lot of guys own and happily play them - not bashing them here. I just think it's sad that if one desires to play a marque John played that we're limited to what Warwick offers.

Hey Alan Buddy,
hope all is well with you.
I am waiting for the good news that your Spyder is finished.........
As with Warwick, additionally Mr.Wilfer of Warwick could give proof to the lawyers, that the Buzzard is HIS design work and that John only did additional help on this. This I think is a heavy factor that this went the way it is.

Oliver,

All's good here, hope it's the same on your end.

Still waiting on my Spyder. Trust me, you'll be the first to know (after me, of course!).

It's too bad that Status and Warwick couldn't come to an agreement on this. Like I said, if one desires a Buzzard, there are only two choices - pay an exorbitant amount of money for a Status B1 (in the unlikely event one comes on the used market), or buy a Warwick (which I personally wouldn't do if my life depended on it, but to each his/her own). Sad indeed.

Thanks for the input guys. I am aware of the legal wranglings etc, which is why I was putting out feelers for a used B1. Having conversed at length with the 'Spyderman', it would seem financially difficult to acquire one and that a B2 would be the only way to get that Entwistle Buzzard sound. However as Oliver pointed out, it's not very spectacular to look at! However, I wait with baited breath for Oliver's 'Feline Spyder'!
