I'm not sure if this is the right place for this or not. But, here goes. I have come into a very temporary, but very dire, financial strait. The only truly valuable thing I own is my 1981 Sweet Comfort Band Alembic Series II (medium scale). I believe parting with it outright would be the death of me since it has become a big part of me. It's a big piece of rock history and Kevin Thomson is one of my bass heroes. Is there an Alembic Club Member who would be willing to loan a sum of money that is equal to or less than the value of this instrument. This would be for 60 to 90 days. I will discuss the amount needed via email or phone directly with interested parties. I would have the instrument insured and overnited to you. Again, I am not looking to sell (lose) my beloved instrument. But it the only thing I have right now that i could justify as collateral. And a pawn shop just won't loan enough no matter how cool it is. let me know if you can help. | ||

I would consider it, but you live so close to the Alembic factory. I think it might be a better plan, especially if you're only looking for 60 days or so, for the bass to be dropped off and held by Mica. This, of course, assumes that they'd be willing to participate. When finances are tight, then saving a couple hundred dollars in shipping costs seems like it might be a worthwhile idea. Just a thought in case anyone else might consider such an option. | ||
