Ok, I just picked up a 1997 Orion bass (birdseye top, 4-string). It's well played but not too bad. Includes the original paperwork and case. Accepting offers. Email for pictures. Corpzilla@cfl.rr.com |

I have several nice basses, including a 78 Series I, but I play my Orion a bunch. It's light, fast, goodlooking, sounds amazing onstage and records even better. Just grab it and go, never a hassle. and it gets lots of compliments. You can't go wrong. |

Nope. It's located in Orlando, Florida. Still available, got one offer but not strong enough to pin a deal. Any other takers? |

OK, well here's a good moral for all of you… (NOTE: I was the seller of the bass above) The history was, I purchased the bass above legally at a local pawn shop (I got a good deal and I thought I could turn a buck). Now I was always under the impression that once it clears a Pawn Shop (30-Days), it then becomes legally property of the Pawn Shop and thus, regardless of how it got there, it’s clear and legal in the eyes of the state… WRONG! Today I got a fair offer from a local buyer and went to meet up to finalize the deal. Started out OK, and we BS’ed for a awhile but then **Poof**, I’m surrounded by a mob of cops and they pat me down, interview me, etc. Long story short: They seized the bass, I didn’t get charged with a crime or anything but now I’m out on my investment till: A.)The manager at the Pawn Shop decides to refund my money and take over the role as victim or B.)The manager refuses to refund my money and then I have to be signed over as an additional victim in the case and thus not seeing any money till the case goes to court, etc. etc. Moral of the story... be careful what you get at a Pawn Shop (I imagine this is also true with a resale shop). There are many dotted lines and ultimately you might be in the cold. |

I think the moral to this story is 'if the price seems to good to be true, IT IS!' Sorry you got burned but that's surely the risk. I too hope everything works out for you... |

If the price seems too good to be true then it probably is, but if I saw a bass like that in a store with a great price, I'd jump on it too. Sorry about what happened to Rob, but I'll bet the owner is happy to get it back. I had a bass stolen from me years ago, and I still remember how happy I was when I got it back. Mike |
