Hey there happy Alembic players, The time might have come for me to finally start to seriously think about my dreams coming true. It might be possible for me to borrow some money, sell my Nexus 5-string which has been a good friend to me for the last 2 years and buy a bass with a logo I've been literally praying to for last 10 or so years ;-) I'm just checking the possibilities now - if I finally decide to buy my dream bass it will be no sooner than in November, I guess. But then again, things might change. I'm especially interested in offers from Chicago area as most probably I will be playing there with my band in November or December. I think it would be reasonable for me to limit the search to Excel, Orion (especially, as I love the sound and the way it looks) and - optionally - Epic (optionally because I find it the least beautiful Alembic model... but I won't complain if I decide to buy one! :-D) fiver but if there is a possibility to find an Essence in my price range I'd be more than happy. I'm looking for a fretted 5-string because that's my main bass. I definitely can't and won't exceed $2000 (for the bass alone) and I'd prefer not to exceed $1500 - I don't earn that much and I have to be careful with money. So? Any good news for me from you fellow Alembicians? ;-) J. | ||

OK, I've finished a deal with Danno... Now I'm waiting for a beautiful verimillion Essence 5 to arrive! Thanks everyone, especially Claudio who's made the 1st offer (a bit over my budget unfortunately), Ellery who sent me an email (I was looking for a fretted bass though - but maybe next time when I decide to step up from my Malinek... ;-)) and, most of all, Danno who offered a good price for his Essence and was real pleasure to deal with! Thank you guys! Now I only have to be patient... Very very patient... | ||

Now please, keep your fingers crossed for me... There's a danger UPS might have lost the bass... It hasn't been delivered yet (it was sent a week ago), the tracking ends on Wednesday (9th) and there's no more info about the package... |
