My only advice is, don't ask over at any of the Rickenbacker forums, official or otherwise. Rickenbacker VERY carefully guards their designs, so eBay auctions or other sales of copies get pulled very quickly. But who knows, someone might have something around here... |

My first "real" bass was a Univox Ric copy in natural. I thought it was better than a Ric in that it had a slightly shallower neck that was easier to play. Other than that, I'm not sure there's much difference between the construction of the Univox and the Ric. Electronics probably aren't as "good", but it sounded nice and had the stereo option. I sold it to a high school chum who still has it and doesn't use it. Was in excellent condition last I saw it. I can contact him if you're interested, but it won't be cheap. Probably between $600-750, I would think. -bob |
