Is it a dark sound or warm sound? The Cocobolo is amazing as well, she's a beautiful instrument! Before I received this instrument, my main bass was an S1 with Maple and Purpleheart neck, and Mahogany body with Maple top and back. And while there are lots of differences between the two basses, I think the Mahogany contributes to the balance that this bass has throughout the frequency range.
