Here's another $95,000 guitar with Gibson & Fender strings. This one is a Doug Irwin guitar. At least the seller isn't playing the "maybe, might have been, could have been Jerry's" card.

Bill the same guy is selling "Mountain girl"; he is not shy about his asking price. In that ad he is playing the "maybe, might have been, could have been Jerry's" card.

With Gibson and Fender Strings??? Wow, I wonder how much he'll knock off the price without the strings?

Peace,

Did the seller mean Gibson & Fender pickups?
And in case you're into highly priced guitars check out this auction. With almost 5 days to go and a low 10Mil starting price who knows how much this auction will fetch... I still think that shipping, at $20,000 is excessive, even with insurance.

Hey, who cares about specific details on the guitars, or even how many guitars are included, if it's only for $10 mil. I mean why not just take a flyer, spend some pocket change. I wonder how this guy would sell an Alembic:

"Wooden musical instrument made in California. It's really cool, take my word for it. $50,000"

As for the "gibson & fender stings" guy, I suspect he is attempting to draw in people searching for gibsons and fenders. You know, the kind of guy who wants a MIM strat for a few hundred, searches "Fender", comes up with the Irwin and Jerry-might-have-coughed-on-it guitars and says to himself, "hmmm, I really only wanted to spend $300 or $400, but what the hell, that's a nice guitar too, I'll bid $95,000".

Hey, I have a Strat that I bought used in '75, so it might have belonged to Jimi Hendrix before me. Who knows? I sell it to anyone here in the club for $75,000. And if anyone has a pic of Hendrix playing my guitar, please send it to me! lol

For that much money, I'll drive my van to Canada and take them where ever the seller is in the continental US. ;)

Does this seller (or any seller for that matter) expect you to bid on this, sight unseen, with no inventory detail, no physical inspection and / or appraisal, then at the end of the auction, if you win, to make a payment through PayPal (or maybe by cashier's check), then wait a few days for a 48' trailer to unload the goods at your house? And in case you wonder, PayPal does provide a $200 protection for this auction.
