I have listed my Alembrick for sale on the Rick Resource board. (It is easier for Johnny Five Thumbs here to post photos there.) Perhaps it will find a new home.

Too bad it didn't work out for you. If I hadn't just bought a house I would be VERY tempted!!!

Thanks for the heads-up bsee. i'll post here directly once I get home.

Sounds like good timing on the house purchase hieronymous. Hope all goes well with it. A little scary to be buying now, but in five years (hopefully) you will look back and say "That worked out well!"

For your perusal and contemplation - a Rickenbacker 4001 c64 with Alembic pickups. I bought the body stripped of electronics and had a local luthier install Alembic bass pups and electronics.

The bass sounds great. You can dial in a wide variety of tones so it is more flexible than my standard 4003. I am offering the bass because i cannot get comfortable with the neck. If it doesn't sell, I'll ponder getting the neck shaved.

The body has some wear and a couple of flaws, most notably two lines on the face near the pots which appear to be under the finish. As well, thre are a couple of very modest nicks on the head and one on the lower bout. The silver hardcase also has a mark or two. Happy to email a more complete set of photos.

I will offer it at a loss for $2100 shipped in the US. (I could be tempted by a Guild M-85)

Thanks.

Very cool. I like the reverse headstock and dot inlays. Good luck with the sale!

dwmark - the bass has been played. Some wear so it does not appear like new. The nicks as per above.

I emailed you the serial number and some more photos early this evening. Thanks.
