IF, (and I do mean IF), I were to completely lose my sanity and become willing to part with my beloved 1976 Series I (76AC070)- which is quite custom and has been upgraded / refinished by Alembic at great expense - would anyone be able to determine her true "value" AND is anyone in our "family" possibly interested? Public posting of responses is fine or you may email directly : crgny@rcn.com

Havn't you ever heard of GAS, sport? Ye Gods, of course we're interested...but whether our spouses are as accomodating, well...
Could you give us more specs...wood types, body style, scale length, etc?

Thanks, Valentino!! I'll be posting some current pics of her in completed form in the next couple of days. You relly don't get the "full effect" without everything put together. I'll also list a complete description (woods used, etc.) which will include reference to my LED's - that have a dimmer knob 8>)

Thanks again

I'd rather not discuss it 8>(.

Here's a pic, anyhow. My "old" digital camera was acting cranky - so please excuse the poor quality. I can send more of them privately.

Here's the lowdown:

* Front/Back Schedua
* Core Cherry
* Neck Purple Heart with Walnut stringers (done this way because the neck thickness dimension roughly duplicates that of a Fender "C" neck - very thin and fast)
The neck is also slightly narrower at the nut and wider at the 24th fret than stock
* original sterling silver logo
* upgraded electronics in 2002 - original pickup molds used
* LED's with dimmer
* Double cutaway body wings with arm and "tummy" contouring (VERY comfortable for the lazy bassist!)
* Custom "Tree Of Life" inlay made of silver, antique ivory, abalone and mother-of pearl

"Nice" comments are always welcome!! 8>)

Thanks, KFS! Where is Selkirk in relation to me (general locale: Poughkeepsie)? BTW - your "quote" really does say it all!

Cheers!

Hey, Chris
Selkirk is just south of Albany, but I lived in Ulster County for years...actually drove past your town on my way to the Taconic while doing honeymoon travel last week.
So how much are you asking for the damned thing, anyway?

Stunning... Absolutely stunning.
What do you call that bodyshape? Small standard with flatspotthingies on the side? :-)
