I have a 6 string Alembic, but I'm not really looking to sell. It would have to be the absolutely right price for me to let go of it, and even then, I'm not sure. What price range are you looking in?

Thanks;)

Hi Tom,

I have a 6 string Lado Custom bass that I may be interested in selling - haven't yet made up my mind, but I haven't been playing it as much as my 4 strings lately & it makes sense for me to sell it to help fund the purchase of my first Alembic (4 string). Take a look at J.K. Lado's work if you're not already familiar with it & let me know if you'd like to see photos/specs/hear it ~ I'd be happy to post them.

Best,
Greg

I have a six string Carvin that isn't doing anything now that I have a six string Alembic. I wasn't exactly looking to sell either but I don't really need this bass anymore....

Hi Tom,
I have an Alembic Essence 6 string with a birds-eye maple top. I wanted to trade it for a 5 string neck-thru Alembic but will consider a sale. A picture of it is in the For Sale & Trade listing labeled "Trade Essence 6 for Essence 5." (near the top). Please let me know if it interests you.

It seems Tom has posted once, then disappeared back into the ether of cyberspace... Too bad. New members are always good to have!

Peace All;)

Frank

ps- Terry, I'd certainly take that 6 off your hands if I had the cash, but unfortunately, I have a distinct lack of $ since my purchase of my S2 6 String Bass (and more recently, a 1978 S2 6 String Guitar- although that was a great deal, even though it needs TONS of work)

pss- there's a few 5's on eBay, from what I recall... you could always post your 6 on eBay, grab the cash, and buy a 5 either from someone on eBay (it's always worked fine for me- never any problems) or from the Club- I think there's a few 5s out there, in the For Sale Section. Or does it have to be an Essence?

I know afrobeat fool has a 5 string Essence for sale that's all maple, but it's a fretless.

Hi Otis,
Thanks for the post and for the tips. Although it doesn't have to be an Essence, I would like it to be neck-thru. Cheers and keep thumpin'

Terry,

You're quite welcome and no problem, at all. I thought the same thing, but when I laid hands on my first Epic 6, I forgot completely about the neck thru thing- my Epic 6's treated me great, while I had them- they both had a great sound, especially the one with 5 Ebony laminates- that one I called "Thunderstick," for obvious reasons- the low end went on, for days, and it was INSANE.

Thunderstick was by far one of the best Alembics I've ever owned, and I've owned a few!

Good luck in your search, and may the force be with you!

Peace;)

There are at least 4 Alembic 6's on ebay, right now. There's a few for $2000 or less.

Tom,
Are you still looking for a 6 string Alembic?
top: Flame Maple
body: Mahogany
through body neck: Maple and Purpleheart 34" long scale
fingerboard: Ebony with pearloid inlays, custom width 2.5x3.5
pickups: AXY56
controls: 2 volume 1 filter mono output
birthday: July 20, 1990
originally made for: Guitar Center, San Diego. Must have been a custom order, but the origial owner did not register the bass.

There was a registered owner in 2002 in southern California. He replaced the pickup screws.
