Hiya, I don't post here too often as I have a forum of my own to run but I'm looking for a particular bit of kit and I suspect the nice folks here on the forum might be able to help ;)

I'm dabbling in a bit of everything these days, guitar, MIDI bass as well as normal bass but don't really want to go to the full expense of getting a complete rig for each application.

So what I'm looking for is an Alembic F-2B to be the centre piece of a stereo guitar/bass rig along with my Mesa Strategy 400 valve power amp.

Has anyone out there got one they'd like to sell for reasonable cost? (Say around the $600 mark?) I'm located in the UK at the moment but with my job situation I'm probably going to have to emigrate back to NZ while I wait for this recession to blow itself out. So if anyone reads this ad by the end of the month, do contact me but I might need to talk shipping to NZ rather than shipping to the UK. :-)

Thanks a load!

They seem to show up on Ebay fairly often; but I can certainly understand if you're trying to avoid going that route.

Hello, I do have the older Blue version F-2B unit.I do not use it because I use 2 F1X's.
I am the 2nd owner. The F2B is in good working order,it just has the "rack rash". I'll try and get photos for you. If you are interested you'll have to pay for shipping and that sort of thing.

Hi Spose, yes spotted that one but Ebay have decided to made my life difficult in the past for a "policy breach" that had no relevance to other Ebay members or reflected any security risk I represented as an Ebay member. So, while the account was restored, I don't use Ebay now out of protest at the way I was treated. Most of my musical gear needs are met through my own forum or through contacts I have in the UK music profession. I've drawn a blank at the F-2B though.

Hi Chalie, yep I always accepted that shipping and sales tax would be part of the deal. Rack rash is absolutely fine, I'd probably only put more on it myself anyway. ;) Hit me with a PM if you need references and what your asking price is.

Ok, I understand the Ebay issue!I have had my own issue with those people. But like you I still have an account with them but I do not use it either. With that said, I have always been a buyer and not a seller. What is method of exchange? How do we do this? You wanted to buy it for 600.00? correct? Get back to me. I am not computer savy in the respect of downloading photos, but I'm really trying to get that together so that you will know I am an honest guy. I have allways been more interested in performing than the computer thing hence, I'm slightly computer challenged. I do have a friend that can help me. His name is Kenny Wittman (an excellent Luthier check him out Spinstraps.com. He's the guy that created the spinning guitars for the ZZTop video)

"Spinstraps.com" gets me to a stationary exercise bike site! And none of the people look like ZZ Top!

Hmmmm....That was funny! Ok...here you go (I had to look myself because Kenny lives 5 minutes from me I hardly use his edress.) It is Spins.com
Kenny made a 5 string for me, in addition he turned my bass into a stereo bass and added the 5pin jack so I could switch from my Alembic to the Wittman. Kenny is a genius. He did the same thing to a Scheckter (sp) that I have, but I wanted some other electronic work done. I'll explain later. I hope I can get this photo thing together and send you pictures of these basses so you can appreciate Kenny's abilities.

Spins.com? Yes, I can access it, but it is a site for natural products. And the guy on the opening page still doesn't look like ZZ Top!

I'm not sure as to how you are coming up with that. But try this "use Google"
1) type in Spins.com ..then Look down on the 3rd listing (that's what it looks like on my screen)
You should see Wittmanspins.com, click on that.
Or try typing in Wittmanspins.com
Let me know if that works. Don't forget, examine the the entire page and look for Welcome to Wittmanspins.com that's if you are using the spins.com edress. You should find now! Then let me know!
Chalie.
P.S.
You should see a photo of Kenny holding one of his basses. He does not look like ZZ Top either (ha!)

Hey OlieOliver! You are significantly smarter than me! I should've put that edress in to save some time for IPESQ and Probably CrazyKIWI too!
Kudos to ya!

lol, sorry you guys are quicker off the ball than I am. I've been a bit distracted today with job hunting and chasing agents since being made redundant (again) a couple of weeks ago.

Charlie - Has the unit been serviced in the last few years? If not, can you tell me whether the filter caps are in good condition and whether the power transformer shows any signs of corrosion?

Kiwi- The unit has not been serviced since I have owned it. I will check the filter caps and the power transformer. I have been trying to figure out how to reduce the pictures (jpeg) so I can upload them to show you the condition of the F2B
It is really a pain in the foot! I will open up the unit tonight when I get home from work.

Yay! finally! Kenny has done some amazing work for me. If I ever figure out how to make my photos Jpeg, I'll show you how he customized my Scheckter to my design. I'll tell you this though, Kenny put a 5pin jack on my scheckter so I can use that along with the Alembic, in addition, I had him put in another Music Man pickup @ the neck to bookend the other pickup @ the bridge. And he split my pickups so that it is also a stereo bass and it sounds awesome...a slap-n-popers delight! But there is still nothing like my Alembic!
Peace-n-out!

Chalie;

How big in inches is one of your pictures?

How big in KBs is the same picture?

What photo-editing programs do you have on your computer?
