I've never been keen on the skylark body shape, but with Coco bolo on top it looks fantastic.

Is that an ebony top on the headstock?

EffClef; I'm pretty sure that is an Ebony face on the headstock. It's standard on the Skylark; and the way this one is reflecting light, it suggests that's what this one has.

that is cool! i am surprised about the bridge placement being so close to the pups when there is lots of room back there. what's the idea behind that?

Well, there's only so much room between the 24th fret and the bridge; thus to allow easy left hand access to the 24th fret, the bridge has to be where it is on the body. With the large pickup shells, the short scale length, the truss rod cover, and maximum separation of the pickups, the bridge has to be close to the pickup. That closeness will give the bridge pickup a cleaner view of the strings than it would if the pickup was moved forward toward the neck.

I really wish he would get back to me, this is the perfect Skylark for me and I really think we could work something out.

Build completed a few hours before my birthday in '05.

We're made for each other.
