I might expect it to go more like $3500 in today's market in a private sale, but this is a dealer. $4K with the ATA case doesn't seem unreasonable if this is the bass someone is looking for. Heck, five string Distillates have been going for almost $3K, so you'd expect a little higher price for similar features and an extra string.
