Looks more like (perhaps) schedua top and back, not koa top and walnut back.

Wow, I have triple omega JPJ with anniversary electronics now long scale now...I love the bass but I've sometimes wondered if the 32" scale would suit me better. That with the Series 1 electronics. Hmmm, should I try to sell my JPJ and go for this one? Tempting.

You should buy this one now and see which one you like better.

Bill has it right. If money allows, it's always better to buy and try before letting go of the known quantity. Shorter scale lengths are awesome for a little extra speed or comfort moving around the neck.

Of course, if you are like most around here, you'll end up keeping both.

Well, my Alembics are worth more now than a year ago.
I can't say the same for my stocks.
I should have bought more Alembics!!

My "spare" cash is sitting a few vintage Fenders.
I expect a serious ROI on those.

I hear ya! The old Fenders are very collector appealling.

Still this a good price on that S-1.

No, I mean why it hasn't sold yet. I think ( for that little I know about Alembics )that the price is right and actually he's also accepting offers.

There is nothing wrong with the bass.
It takes a while, even in good times, to sell a $3700 instrument.

A Series bass will certainly scratch any Alembic itch you might have.
