I have one with a transparent black finish and gold hardware. It has the standard oval inlays and standard Europa electronics. I paid close to $5500 for it new. I am considering selling it as it has not left the case in quite some time. This bass has been played very much and shows quite a bit of wear. It is still a great playing instrument and has never let me down. It has a flame maple top and mahogany body. The finish as I said is transparent black but has become a very, very dark brown finish with age. The grain is very easy to see under the light. http://chickencoup.org/images/alembic1.jpg I apologize for not asking a concrete price here. I need to know about what this bass is worth these days. With the price of these going up all the time and sentimental reasons, I would probably want around $4k for it. It is missing the truss rod cover which I have e-mailed Alembic about. I still have the hang tag that came with it. In that pic it is sitting in the original hard case which I would obviously include. It was completed 12/23/96 and inspected by KH :D |
