I hate to do this, but the reality is that I never get to play this bass. I'll be starting law school in August, so I am trying to liquidate things I don't use. In the best of all possible worlds, I want a short or medium scale bass, so I am open to trade ideas. I am asking $5k, which I know is a little above the general price for these instruments, but the mitigating factors are: It's got a refinish and setup from the factory, so it looks great! It's got a case with very low miles on it (not the one in the pictures. Apparently it was donated by Jimmy Johnson). It's got both a rack mount power supply and the original blue box. I don't really want to sell it. I know I'll be bummed to be without an Alembic, but I also know it won't be forever and when I get another, it will be closer to the one I want. Pictures are at http://alembic.com/club/messages/411/4748.html?1210707724 and if necessary I can take more. The refinish got rid of almost all the dings and discolorations except for maybe one or two very slight ones that reveal the fact that this bass has had a history. The neck is very straight and it plays great. It has not had the electronics upgrade, but I don't think it needs one as I have played it from coast to coast and have never had objectionable noise. It's a quiet bass. Sigh. Edwin PS If you are anywhere near where I tour, I can bring it with me and we can avoid shipping costs and dangers. |

Edwin, Any chance you'd sell the Blue Box seperately? I have three basses and two power supplies, and just know that sooner or later I'll leave the house carrying a bass with no power supply. |

Maybe, but let's see. I'd rather sell the whole thing as a group. Edwin |

Edwin,I have a 5 string medium scale fretless with very low mileage that I simply don't play. It's so cutomized that it defies model classification. Custom body, headstock, neck dimensions and electronics. It's solid flamed purple heart with paduk stringers and accent stripe. Custom road case. Heavy and sustains for years. If you are interested and would consider a straight up trade. contact me bkravitz@panynj.gov |

I received this bass in excellent condition and I'm headed on the road with it in two days. Thank you Edwin for such a beautiful instrument. I can't put it down. Nick. |
