If it had an Omega cutout, that's exactly what I'd buy if I was in the market for another Alembic.

Dang it! That's exactly what I'm looking for but I just don't have the cash for it right now.
Oh Well...I'll keep wishing.

Has anyone else noticed this bass on eBay? These same pictures plus a couple more are on the eBay posting and the seller claims it's a 2001. Does anyone else think there's something wrong with this picture? Maybe it's a scam...

The location on the Ebay listing is, like the Craigslist listing, shown as Las Vegas.

The auction was canceled by eBay.
It might have been a scam.
(Other than the date discrepancy, I thought it looked legit.)

And it's back on eBay. I asked the seller why it was listed as a 2001 with the same exact pictures as the Craig's List listing which was listed as a 1991. Maybe it's legit, but it's awful strange...
Still seems like a possible scam- but maybe the eBay listing is legit and the Craig's List listing was not because it was hijacked or something... Weird.

...the listing describes it as an 'Omega point'... doesn't the Omega describe a cutout, not a standard point body.

Also the line about the 'headphone jack input' being a custom order has me puzzled. As does the statement that having a master volume making it similar to a series ll .

Beautiful instrument in any case...where ever it may be.

Good point, Elwood. That threw me, too, but I firgitntp mention it. If it's an "Omega Point" it does have to have an "Omega" cutout, or it's a "Standard Point" body, like you said. I still think there's something rotten in Denmark with this listing. Too many little things. Maybe he'll answer my question I'm a way that removes all doubt, but I doubt it...

Personally, I like the optional Headphone input. Gotta get one of those on my bass.

It seems a headphone 'output' would be more useful...strike that...a headphone 'input' would bypass the need for instruments altogether :-)

A headphone input would be sweet... if only I could get the instrument and my fingers to do what I hear in my head....

Guys, the seller responded to my question on ebay and said that the year & Omega reference was a typo and that it was also listed on Craig's List. Still... Good luck with the bidding, and may the best Club (or Non-Club) Member win!

The "optional headphone input" could be referring to the fact that older Series basses that are wired stereo can be played through stereo headphones without any other powering unit. I do it all the time with my '87 Series I
