Have you ever tried to contact a seller asking if he will ship outside the US? Many sellers are prepared, although you'll have to pay for international shipping, which is probably quite costly. |

Hi Peter, I got my F1-X out of US and tehre were no problems at all. THe only problem is that US people have bad experiences with EU-dudes (yes I know you're in Australia but anyway...) who want to have a lower amount of money on the bill than actually paid (for import taxes and VAT) and want a higher amount of money for the insurance of the freight. So my advice: play it nice and clean and that will work out. I agree withe Duncan: immediately MAIL those people and most of the time you got an answer. In all cases: SF-2's are not THAT easy to found second hand. I think I just got lucky. Paul the bad one |

Quite often it's a case of simply not wanting to fill out the customs forms. Frank (in Toronto) |

Mica, Are there any guitar players out there? I play an Orion guitar that I've had for several years. I knew nothing about Alembic when I bought it except that Jerry Garcia used to play one. The Orion Guitar is great, but I would love to have more control over the tone like you would get with a Series 2 or Further Guitar. Would an SF-2 do the trick? Can you use one with Guitar or just Bass? Rusty |

Sometimes you can convince a fellow club member to purchase on your behalf and have the seller ship to them as usual. Then, your fellow club member can send it on to you. I think I've seen a few folks around here do that sort of thing to help. Rusty - the SF2 can be used with guitar or bass, some of the extreme low settings may not be very useful, but there's no reason you can't SF2 with a guitar. There is an internal jumper for adjusting the gain for bass or guitar if you use the SF2 as a preamp. |
