Just be patient and I'm sure you can find a nice one within your price range. Check local music shops, too. You never know what some people trade in. My first Alembic was a Spoiler, identical to the one Bill posted above. I got it from a music store I was working at back in high school. I don't know what type of business he gets but Shomaker Music over in Burlington is an Alembic dealer. At the typical NASCAR speeds folks drive on I-40 it is not that far from Greensboro to the Triangle. Given that you might wish to talk to Mike Conn at Conn-signment Music. I have seen several Essence basses roll through his shop over the past couple of years.
