They pop up relatively often on eBay. Just be patient and I'm sure you can find a nice one within your price range.

Check local music shops, too. You never know what some people trade in.

My first Alembic was a Spoiler, identical to the one Bill posted above. I got it from a music store I was working at back in high school.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info, I live in Greensboro, N Carolina and in my years of music store searching the only high end basses I have was one rickenbacker and a roscoe but that because they are made here, I'm sure dave knows about that

Taylor,
You might want to put a word in at a couple of music stores. I don't know what type of business he gets but Shomaker Music over in Burlington is an Alembic dealer.

At the typical NASCAR speeds folks drive on I-40 it is not that far from Greensboro to the Triangle. Given that you might wish to talk to Mike Conn at Conn-signment Music. I have seen several Essence basses roll through his shop over the past couple of years.

oh wow, i thought that me and dave were the only north carolinians on this forum, know any others?

i'll have to go over there one weekened to see what's at Shomaker Music. it can be pretty intense on I-40(at times, i could have been one of the NASCAR drivers out there that you have seen :-D), i'm not sure where Conn-signmetn Music is, do you think you could tell me?

Mike has moved out of the City Market location. He is now at:
3236 Capital Blvd.
Raleigh, NC

Phone:
919-341-0686

As far as folks from NC. There are 4 others that I have met and one honorary NC resident (In case you didn't guess that's you Adam). There are a few others that I have not met. Look here for the folks that made the last NC Gathering.

The same bass is on craigslist.
http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/msg/1361643931.html
Email him and offer $1300 shipped.
The eBay auction will most likely be sniped for more than that.
