The text has been changed to read Flame Walnut. The crack is interesting. It's against the grain, so I'm wondering if something hit the guitar or the guitar was dropped on something; but if so, why is the volume knob not damaged? Maybe the knob was replaced. I really have no idea, but my guess is that to repair this, Alembic would fill the crack with a mixture of appropriately colored sawdust and wood glue. On the inside, the shielding paint should be touched up after the repair. Short of a refinish, I guess covering the repair with superglue would protect the area. The crack may scare away enough bidders to keep the price low. And it may be worth it to have Alembic do the repair; you would need to call for a quote. I noticed one other dent, but otherwise it looks pretty good. |
