Saw one at bass n.w. a few months ago, sure are rare i got mine off ebay and after a bid war paid almost 800 used but the unit i got was in 10 condition. The one at bass nw sold before i could get my hands on it & it looked pretty beat up. Don't know what it sold for but somebody got lucky. I hope i don't get shanked for saying this here but i preferred it to my f1-x , f2-b and Demeter vtbp??? whatever model it was! Very nice sounding pre with a couple of mullard 12ax7's and an amperex 12au7. Good luck. You can also find Les Plopa around on some forums even though he is not making them the web site is still there and the designer can still be reached for questions. I thought i remember him saying he was going to try to make them again but my memory especially short term is not so good. ;-) Good Luck........ |

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, there is quite a bit of positive discussion on these on the web and I have viewed the mfg. website. I would think there is enough interest out there to profitably crank out a limited production run, too bad they don't as it seems they are still in business? I'm using the F1x now and it's a solid pre-amp, but would really like to try the Kern |
