I can't imagine Alembic would let an "Unfinished Bass" get out of the shop...

Mica, do you have any info on how this came about? is this an actual Alembic or a copy that someone made to look like an Alembic?

Maybe an unfinished instrument that walked out of here. I can't really tell from the photos. But I can tell you that if we don't finish something, then there is a reason why like a problem with the wood.

We do not sell items that are unfinished. My hunch is that a former employee took items when they left that they were not entitled to take with them. I can't imagine that it's anyone that works here now, but I know for a fact some of the folks that were here before removed items without permission. So uncool.

Taylor, I'm sorry, but what's the difference between an actual copy and a copy made to look like an Alembic?

hmmm, i will try to get some clearer pictures from the seller. when you say a problem with the wood, do you mean its cracked or it just didn't look right?

i will try to get the sellers name if that will help

Mica, sorry about that, many sleepless nights means foggy mind :-), so just a copy

Anyone else notice the pics in the listing are dated year 2005? Might indicate something... and yes, so uncool.

Well, the listing is gone now. The seller might be running scared of being identified.

Anyone grab any pics before it was deleted?

I'd imagine it should be put in the stolen Alembics section, even though there's no serial #
