Awesome sounding and looking Garcia signature model with Modulus graphite neck. I'm planning to list my beautiful 1992 DY98 on ebay. Its in like new condition, barely played. If they were still made you could not tell it wasn't new. Somewhat sentimentally I'd like to see it go to a good home and be appreciated, so I'm posting here before listing it somewhere. These are quite rare, I was told only a couple dozen combined of the DY98 and DY99s with Modulus necks were produced. I spoke with Alvarez and they said they didn't have records, but it was customary for about 12 of these Yairi signature models to be produced per year, but its possible fewer came with the Modulus necks. If any of you knowledgeable folks out there know more, I'd be psyched to hear it. At the Ramrod auction in '07 Jerry Garcia's DY98 sold for around 106,000. Mine never belonged to Jerry, but it is almost unused and in absolutely perfect condition, and obviously dramatically less expensive. No kiddin' this is the best sounding guitar I have ever played or even heard played, bright and ringing, but not at all harsh or lacking in depth. If you're interested I have some more pictures.
