Times are tough and I am having to sell my Alembic, something I thought I'd never do. Serial number 77-962. I recently showcased it on the following thread: http://alembic.com/club/messages/411/71419.html?1255400071 I purchased this used in 1980. In 1982 I upgraded the Series I electronics to a Series II in order to obtain the master volume knob and the continuous Q switches. It is one of the few guitars that have the factory installed mellow filters that are explained on the thread I gave the link to. At that time the back pick-up was repaired also. The woods, according to the factory, are a Koa top, mahogany core with a rock maple and purple heart neck. The fingerboard is rosewood. It is, of course, the old finish that yellows out and has a good amount of spidering on the finish. At the time the I had the upgrade done the factory recommended not refinishing the guitar as they no longer had the same finish material and thought the spidering gave it character, as do I. There is a ding by the master volume knob. It comes witht he power supply as cord. as well as a flight case. I have no idea if the flight case is original or was purchased later but it came with it when I purchased it from Stuyvesant Music on 49th street in NYC, long ago gone. There are pictures posted on the thread I linked to and I can post more if needed. By far my favorite guitar but circumstances require I part with this prized possession. Let me know any questions you have or pictures you need if interested. (Man, nothing has hurt so much as to list this guitar and part of me hope you all hate it and I have no choice but to keep it.) |

Nice guitar. I wonder how long it'll be before Bill chimes in on this? Graeme |
