Hi All- I am selling 2 VERY RARE and COLLECTIBLE UK Trace Elliot Bass Guitar Amplification Systems formerly owned by GREG LAKE, vocalist/bass guitarist for Emerson, Lake and Palmer. This system was used on the last ELP world tour. I acquired this dream rig via ELP's tour tech, Will, after ELP decided to quit touring. He offered me a chance to acquire the system after he had seen my ELP tribute band 'Knife Edge' perform in Santa Monica, CA. Of course, my axe of choice was a vintage Series I! Unfortunately, a workplace accident has ended my bass playing and gear-hauling days for the foreseeable future. I have sold my beloved Series I, and must now liquidate this amplification system as well. I know that the members of the Alembic community will understand and appreciate the historical significance of this gear- especially in regard to Greg Lake's role in contributing to the stature of the electric bass guitar in rock music. Needless to say, the sound of an Alembic through this rig is legendary. I have 2 of the original 3 stacks left. Each stack is a 3-way full-range bass guitar 'PA', driven by 600 watts, consisting of the finest UK Trace Elliot components, and includes one each of the following: * 1 X 15" Bass cabinet model 1518. * 4 X 10" Bass cabinet model 1048H (w/Horn). * ELP/Greg Lake stenciled professional Road Case for the above pair of Bass Cabinets. * 4 X 5" "Bright Box" model 4052H tweeter array. * RA 600 300 Watt/Channel Stereo amplifier w/Biamp Crossover built-in. Just add your favorite bass guitar preamp, or take the line out from your existing amp, and you will be ROCKING! I am a professional sound engineer and studio designer by trade, and have verified that all components are in excellent electrical and mechanical condition. They are in very good cosmetic condition. The road cases show some wear and scratches, as is to be expected. ---PRICE: ONLY $1500 per stack, $2900 for BOTH---! If you purchase BOTH stacks for $2900, I will include: * ELP/Greg Lake stenciled custom 19" shock mount rack system in road case, for Preamps/Mixers, Poweramps, and other rack gear- and it can also hold the 2 'Bright Box' tweeter arrays for transport. * Complete custom cabling for both stacks. THIS IS TRULY EVERY BASS PLAYER'S 'WET DREAM' RIG! Yes lmiwa- You are correct- Greg Lake was using a GP12SMX with this system. However, when I fired the preamp up, it was not operating properly, so I decided not to sell it. I'll eventually repair it, and keep it for myself. I am also keeping the spare (4th) Bright Box. At least I'll have a couple of actual Greg Lake/ELP items left in my collection after the stacks themselves are sold. I will forward your contact info to anyone who is interested in these Trace systems- your preamp would be the perfect mate to them. btw, your Series II is a work of art- I'll bet it plays and sounds every bit as good as it looks.
