Interesting also the price swing !
They're really trying to consider Alembics as investing tools over there. :-)

Looks like an Anniversary electronics + mastervolume to me...

Ad says:
"This bass is ready for Series II electronics with the modification of Q switches instead of CVQs so already comes factory with the 'dummy' humcanceller installed, all routing factory done and a lightweight hollow body as Series II."

There's no 5 pin output, looks like the mono/stereo switch is there. Also it looks like there are now screws to hold the preampcard...

Edit:

"I understand the confusion so we can't talk strictly about a Series bass or a Signature Deluxe, this bass was a custom order, not a regular Alembic, the starting point in mind was a Series II (hollow body, dummy' humcanceller, Series serial, etc) but was overmuch expensive and finally the original owner picked a downgrade with Series I electronics and any Signature Deluxe specifications to deflate the bill preserving many other top specifications."

I would love to see some pictures of the electronics to prove that...

James,
I'm glad that you chimed in as I remember the last time this was available and didn't have time to look it up earlier today. Now that I see your post I also remember your user name. Thanks for the pointers!
Best,
Art

My pleasure, Art.

It is a stunning looking and interesting bass - so pretty easy to remember when it comes up! Seems to be getting a bit of interest on Basschat UK, so it'll be interesting to see if it continues its journey around the world and makes it over to the UK. :-)

Cheers
James

Nice looking axe! I want a 5 string series to compliment my distillate series. (See Chalie's Distillate) And it seems as though most of the songes that I've chosen for my group "Bop Top' requires a 5 string. I do have a custom made 5 string made by Kenny Wittman. I had Ken split the pickups, put a 5 pin jack in it for stereo and to be able to switch over to my distillate too. I'll have to download the photos as soon as I find my camera.

This may have been straightened out already, but the seller's contention that "Anniversary electronics are the same as Series 1 electronics without the 5 pin connector" is flat wrong. However, I've noticed that the seller has said that he's decided to keep the bass.
