Dear Members,
I do a businestrip from Germany to Miami in January...
did anyone have to sell a Stanley Clarke Series One?
I am searching for one.. but in Europe the Alembics are too expansive....
thanks

Is this any good to you? It's on Ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.de/ALEMBIC-SERIES-ONE-4-STRING-BASS-GUITAR-VINTAGE-MINT_W0QQitemZ250546510572QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV?hash=item3a55bc5aec

It's been on Ebay a few times and unsold so maybe you could contact the seller and negotiate a better deal,

I recall a thread where Mica stated that there is only one person they will make a small body shape in anything but short scale. So that one on ebay must have been before that restriction was in place.
I think she also said that all of Stanley's personal alembics are short scale.

It's a lovely bass, I would have been very tempted even though it's a very old model if I had not bought my dragon earlier this year.

But i guess someone else from Europe will get that one as the price would be high for USA buyers.

Ulf - 32" is actually medium scale for Alembic. Short scale is 30.75".

Stanley appears to play short scales pretty much exclusively, so the description on eBay is slightly off ("This is the exact instrument that Stanley Clarke made so famous when using it with Return To Forever.").
