Careful of this one...(sigh)...dreams of a $2900 Further..... I asked for photos... Response -"The unit is exactly as mentioned in my craiglist ad. If you want to buy it, I will have to deliver it to you from my store in Los Angeles. Shipping and all delivery taxes ( including insurence ) are included in the price. Also you will receive a 30 days Money Back Guarantee. For the transaction, I suggest we use eBay for both security. Also if you want to make the transaction with me , please email me your: Full Name: Address: City: Phone# I will start the transaction with eBay right away. Thank You , Barn" I said - "Great I'm in Los Angeles, where's your store?" Response - "I just closed my shop for good and now I sell what I had left there.why don't you agree with that? It is very safe for both. I am not able to come there and bring you the product , I will only deliver it to you . let me know" I said - "Let me know where you are and I'll swing by. I'd like to pick up/play the guitar before buying it. Thanks." Response - "Hello, I do not have a Paypal account, but I suggest we use ebay for this.I used them a few times just to make sure that when I buy and I sell something everything works great and nothing bad happens. As soon as you provide me your name, address and phone number,I will start the transaction and they will send you an invoice in which they will mention all the transaction details The transaction is pretty simple : you send the money to the eBay agent, I deliver the product to you and once you receive and see that it is in the condition I told you, you need to confirm to the eBay agent and he will send me the money. If the product has a problem or something you will send it to the ebay agent and he will send you the money back and deliver the product back to me. Thanks." http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/msg/1540310791.html |

Would be nice but sounds too fishy...the CL description has been copied from the site here. Why would someone sell a new Further at that price when they could sell it for twice that with just a little work (taking pictures and writing a real description of the instrument)? Thanks for the heads up, Kris |

There are very few Furthers in Buckeye Burl. I think we only made 3, but mom thinks 4. Anyway, get the serial number first to confirm what it is as there are not a lot of them out there. $2900 is a steal, considering it's far less than dealer price ever was. BUT, I really don't remember selling one to a store in Los Angeles. Also, ebay requires payment by Paypal or by direct credit card. What he's describing is escrow. Just seems weird to list in NY when the guitar is in LA. Warning signs all over this, so please tread carefully! |

It's a scam. The guy is going to send you a spoofed address to e-bay to get your money and credit card information. Keith |

The scammer actually pulled the identical title, CAPS and all, from the legit ebay listing... |

Hi one and all. If you believe that add, I have 2 tributes for $29.95 each for sale. :-) I have one of the Buckeye Burl Furthers and it was custom made and sent to me directly from Alembic. My dealer is Miami Vintage Guitar. I have seen the 2nd one at Miami Vintage Guitar. So, where is the other one or possibly two. Not sure. Do the math, it does not compute. My Buckeye Burl is killer, so is its sister that Miame Vintage got. Be careful and good luck. Paul |

Hey, I got mine a few months ago. After I got mine, I was in Florida and saw the other buckeye burl. It was around the beginning of December I think. I also bought the Little Darling from Miami. It took who ever handles it for them a few weeks to get the add off. I guess they are a little slow this time of year and they are only at the shop on Saturdays. Its an interesting little place. Really nice people to do business with. I also got a Stanley Deluxe in Coco from them. |
