I'm looking to pick up alembic #2. What do people think about the MK 5-string currently on e-bay. Does it look legit and is this a good price.

Looks like a variation of Europa electronics to me. No LED's that I can tell. It has nice top but I wouldn't pay that much for it.

Not sure about the four switches. Seller lists them as Q-switch x 4 which can't be right. Normally those would be a Q-switch, bass and treble quick change switches, and an LED switch. Certainly worth asking the seller about them.

I agree with Keith - it's a spectacular top, but I think it's overpriced without the Signature electronics.

Just my opinion of course...

Headstock looks funny, either the space between the tuners is larger or the headstock is smaller.

Nothing mentioned about leds, though that seems to be [Spock mode] the only logical explanation... [/Spock mode]

Big +1 on the spectacular top!

I thought it was walnut instead of koa ... whatever it is, it's pretty stunning! It definitely has koa on the front of the peghead.

The "small crown" peghead looks a bit crowded, with 5 tuners, and the logo - an acquired taste, I'm sure.

He lists the bass having a 34" scale, but I remember seeing Olie Oliver's 5 string (Distillate type body shape) with a similar headstock and his is 35" scale.
