Pretty distillate that may be in need of a little TLC - Very low buy-it-now price. |

I think it's probably an "output" jack you're looking for, but in any case - congratulations :-) Now quick, spare us all a lot of grief and give us a link to the pictures before people start banging bottles on the table. |

Congratulations. It just looked like such a nice deal (for all one can tell looking at Ebay pix), that I had to say something. It really looks pretty. What's more, if my Spoiler is any indication, these devices are made so well that they clean up even better (No one polishes brass the way a new owner of an Alembic can!). Enjoy it and let us know when you recieve it. I'd love to know how you like it. Bill |

Congratulations...good aim, sir. Unfortunately, now I must hate you, because that is the bass and price I have been holding out for lo these many weeks of dedicated Alembic questing. A side note--how the hell did they plug the bass in? By osmosis? |

Looks like the original jack was removed and covered with a brass piece and a side jack must have been installed. I think I can kinda see it in the bottom picture. Valentino |

A mere $850 Buy-It-Now. Imagine my panic when I came home from a 'busy night' and stumbled across that on eBay...I woke up wondering if it had actually happened, but much to my pleasure it had. I'm tentatively planning a little vacation to California for this bass once it arrives, I intend to have the output jack restored to the original position and the holes filled in, if possible (and within budget). Any thoughts from Santa Rosa on ball park cost for a repair of this nature? |

Hi Adam, congrats to your new babe ! Very nice. Has it already arrived ? BTW: you can find some pictures of your previous EPIC in the showcase area. She has already accomodated to her new friend, a 94 MK STD. Werner |

$850, nice deal even considering the mods. It looks to me like the plate does have the power LED on it, so maybe just the jack was moved. Strange way to do it - but I would guess the person used that area to drill out toward the side for the jack. Filling it in may be troublesome but Alembic can work minor miracles! I think the only reason someone would want to do this - since a right angle plug would have been a simpler solution - is if the jack got pulled and the top wood split in that area. Let us know how you like the sound/feel of it! EffClef |
