I'm selling my '88 Spoiler to finance ordering my dream MK Deluxe with S2 electronics. What can I say? Susan W. and Beaver at BassCentral put together a deal I can't refuse. If interested in the Spoiler, its at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2375581218&category=4713. Good shape, pretty bass. Smaller Vector body makes it much easier to handle than other Alembics (probably sort of like an Essence). Plus - Vectors don't turn up often on Ebay or anywhere else. OK - Sales pitch is over. Wish me luck financing my new baby! Bill |

Brother Bill! THat was quick. Completely understandable although because indeed Vectos ARE rare and a lot of people are really liking them a lot. Good luck with the new coming child! Are you "in labour" already in the Factory to customer dep?? Paul the bad one |

Thanks Paul. It was really quick. Now I need to work out some payment and shipping alternatives with the buyer, who is in Rotterdamm (I'm in U.S.). Any recommendations on secure funds payment? Is PayPal operative internationally (beyond U.S. and Canada). U.S. dollar wire transfer to my bank? Your insights (plus those of anyone else reading this) would be very much appreciated. Anything else (customs, etc.) I should consider in making it a smooth transaction? Now, on to the new bass...No, I'm not going to be in the build queue for a while yet. What happened was I called Susan the other day with a question (I don't even remember what it was.). I had already spent considerable time with Mica and Val exploring alternatives, and I thought I'd settled on an MK Del with anniv electronics/FatBoyz (plus inlaid logo, maybe LED's other custom options). When I told Susan I wanted the bass prepped for later S2 upgrade, she spoke directly to the part of me that was already asking (silently, inside my head...talking to yourself out loud doesn't look good), "Why wonder how good the sound WOULD have been with S2?" To make a long story short, I sacrificed a few planned options and went for sound (I'm sure before all is said and done, I'll add some options back in.). Beaver at BassCentral made me a very fair deal and away we go (once I pay the balance LOL!) Anyway, I feel great - that I'm getting the bass I wanted with the electronics I thought out of reach, AND that I can now stop planning and replanning options (THAT was getting to be very time-consuming for me.). Thanks for your good words. Bill |

Payment is simple. Go to a shipping agency or US post and ask an estimate on the price. Tell them you want to ship it to EU and they prepare all docs for you. Contact the lucky bastard in Rotterdam and send him: - your FULL adress - your acount number by your bank - the full adress of the bank where you are client - there IS a kinda code to identify banks in the US (compatable with the European IBAN number but not every bank in the US has it) so maybe you use that one. - ask the guy to transfer the money + the transport costs + ASK HIM TO ASK HIS BANK TO TAKE FULL CHARGE FOR THE MONEY TRANSFER. Then you wait the money. Then you send the bass. Finito. It's how I got my F1-X over here from the Boston area. Paul the bad one |

Paul: Thanks for the info. I've done international fundnig transactions in the past, but never with MY money! I've already heard from the buyer and are working on the details now. He does seem to appreciate what he's bought. I recommended he check out the Club. It's been a great experience and good resource for me. Thanks again Bill |

To all: Well, some things are too easy to be true. I was just contacted by the person who bought my Spoiler with a claim that he had bid by mistake (he thought he was buying an acoustic and didn't realize the problem till I mentioned "Alembic" in one of my Emails to him) and that he is backing out. I have relisted the bass - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3700095357&category=4713&sspagename=STRK%3AMESSE%3AIT&rd=1. What a drama! Bill |

Yeah. I guess the Buy-it-Now was right for someone. As I mentioned above, I was looking for a quick sale to put the $ toward my new bass - So, I was only hoping to get what I paid for it. Now I can focus on my new baby (Building won't start for a while, but I already can't wait!). Thanks - (I hope this one works out.) Bill |

Selling the same bass twice in two days has to be some kind of record. Good job! Sam |
