WTT: My SI Long scale for your SI Med...

Author Message mike1762 Senior Member Username: mike1762 Post Number: 534 Registered: 1-2008 Posted on Monday, May 10, 2010 - 3:41 am:    I'm coming to terms with the fact that the ergonomics of my Long scale Series I just make it impossible for me to comfortably play (the reach to the first position is just a little bit too much). I'd like to trade it for a Medium scale (Series I only). I prefer the classic look of the Standard point, but I would consider other body shapes (another Long scale that had a long upper horn would probably work as well). As you can see, it's a beautiful bass (recently refinished) and it has the best/fastest neck of any instrument I've ever played. Just wondering if you have given yourself enough time to get accliamted to the extra reach. For my LS SI it was a good six months before I felt I was really comfortable with it. I've always played LS basses with no problem, so I guess my issue is with the Standard Point body.
