I saw that. The price is a bit high! Doug Irwin did some custom mods for me back in the 1970's and he once let me take one of his Bass's that he made to a gig to try out. He gave me the option of buying it for about 34 times less then this guitar is selling for now. It was a very generous offer but I was a bit on the financially tapped side at the time (tuition for school ) and decided to pass on the offer, O WELL ! _ LOL___ (Message edited by sonicus on May 15, 2010) |

Is that an "original" Irwin guitar? It looks to me like it could be a just as well be a highly modded Les Paul custom. I know he did a lot of custom modification work in those days. |

I went to Doug Irwin's shop various times and I remember seeing a "Les Paul shape" guitar being built fresh from " raw stock ". This was a popular shape for other various builders as well at this time . |
