The price is a bit high! Doug Irwin did some custom mods for me back in the 1970's and he once let me take one of his Bass's that he made to a gig to try out. He gave me the option of buying it for about 34 times less then this guitar is selling for now. It looks to me like it could be a just as well be a highly modded Les Paul custom. This was a popular shape for other various builders as well at this time .
