I thought that the price was bit high as well when I checked it out when I played it. I guess they didn't go over too well and there was an excess of inventory. I still have mine, along with two prototypes. The prototypes are made of wood with Les Paul-type electronics, but have the signature aluminum fingerboard with the "steps" instead of frets. If anyone is interested in buying one, or trading for one, let me know. I'm always interested in things Alembic, neck-throughs in general, the unusual, or the just plain weird. Bill, tgo
