Somebody buy this as GAS is really hitting me hard on this one but the thought of the duty is focussing my logical brain.

I think If I was flushed with loads of cash I'd have far too many Elans in different pickup, electronics, wood combinations.

Simples JV! Sell me your black one and you can afford to buy this one. Can't blame a man for trying ;-)

Strange, your post appeared twice, JV. Think you are trying to tell me something! OK, thats the last pester from me - but you have my email if you change your mind :-)

As an aside, JV, do you know if anyone in the UK upgrades Alembic electronics (eg, American Guitar & Bassworld?) if I wanted to put sig electronics in my Spoiler and/or Elan 5?

Hmm I don't know really. I've been to bass world and they seem very knowledgeable but I don't know if they fiddle about with basses as well as sell them.
You could always try John Diggins at Jaydee Custom guitars in Brum. I've used him for years to do stuff on my guitars. He is currently doing a refurb of my strat with alembic guts in. 0121-773 5711 or email jaydeesupernatural@ukonline.co.uk
The only thing is, I know he is busy at the moment as I called him today to see how my strat was getting on and he's had it for almost a year now.

Thanks Jazzyvee. If people think a good luthier is sufficient to install upgraded electronics, I would probably use the Bass Gallery in Camden, London (who make the highly recommended Sei custom basses)
