The pictures are too small to see clearly, but I'm wondering if we haven't seen this bass before. You could probably send this bass to Santa Rosa and get the headstock repaired so that it looks nice, and still come out way ahead. |

Tempting. I've always wanted a Series bass from my birth year, but I already have a Juzek and a security deposit to pay for. Maybe next time... |

"A Series bass from my birth year" That's a concept that is so far from any semblance of reality in my neck of the universe that the thought has never previously crossed my mind. You trying to make me feel old??!! hehehehe Bill, tgo (Message edited by lbpesq on September 23, 2010) |

Hmm, being primarily a guitarist, I felt reborn sonically when I got my first alembic bass so thats as close to a "my birth year" bass that I can get. Although I did buy myself a series guitar for my 50th this year so thats my birthday Alembic. :-) Jazzyvee |

Hi, Yes, this is my bass, and it is still for sale. I pulled the old ad while I had the bass checked out. Ruggiero's in Philly (one of very few local guys who's opinion I have complete faith in) looked over the bass, and confirmed that the repair is not pretty, but it is stable and straight. I reposted on Craigslist because local is often easier. In any rate, I'll keep it up at the $2300 rate if someone here wants to move on it. But hey, don't be shy about making an offer. Best, Ben |

Hello phobucket. What's the width at the nut and at the end of the fretboard, in inches? Thanks. |

""$600.00 mbo. " ???... How disrespectful ." Maybe if his painting sold he could offer more??? $2300.00 is a good deal for this bass...If I were looking for for an alembic series bass and had a limited budget to work with Id be all over it. (Message edited by glocke on September 29, 2010) |

@ musashi I'll have to check that out when I get home this evening. The string spacing feels narrower than my J bass at the bridge, but I don't think it feels all that different at the nut. @ elwood, tmoney, and glocke Thanks for the support. |

Consider the source. Even though (as a guitarist with stubby fingers) I want a med. scale bass, if I had any money, @ $2300 this would have been gone on the 22nd. Peter |

Hey you said make an offer. BTW, my paintings has nothing to do with my pockets, I paint for non-profit reasons, but what does this have anything to do with my offer anyway. Peace and Love, Hal- |

The kicker is, you have no vested interest for the buyer or seller... But you would make a great studio audience member on "Let's make a Deal" where you could actually yell to the contestants (on the show) "No deal!!!" Peace and Love, Hal- |

@musashi 1 3/4" at the nut. 2 1/8" at the 24th fret. Also, the neck is 3/4" thick at the first fret, 7/8" thick at the 12th fret. The thickness was measured with a ruler from the front edge of the fretboard because I don't have calipers, but I'm really just pointing out that the neck profile is slimmer than some other Alembics I have played, and I find it quite comfortable. @slicknick Yes. Email me at onebigben aht yahoo daht com. @Toma "No deal!!!" |
