No, the bass has not had the upgrade and there is a very minor hum in the neck pickup. However it is not at all discernable when playing . Both of these fine instruments sound incredible, the series especially. The Orion is in excellent shape, in almost new condition and the Series is in very good shape considering it being 21 years old with a small ding here and there. Remember the Series comes with 1. flight case 2.
