Obviously not an Alembic for sale, but since the purchase of a new custom is the reason I'm selling, I hope it is ok to post this here for fellow club members.

An unfortunate injury to my left arm has just made it too uncomfortable to play the 35" scale of this bass. Mica's got a few tricks up her sleeve to help me with this problem, so with the new custom on order I've got to let this one go.It's really a gorgeous instrument, and sounds as good as it looks. It has a really nice spalted maple front and back with a walnut core, and a natural oil finish. There is a couple of small indentations in the back (I tried to get them in a picture) but other than that the bass is MINT. I'm asking $3500.00, including a (somewhat well used, but still solid) hardshell case. Here are some pictures, please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Very nice bass, reasonable for an NY-made Spector. .

But it is a mouthful . . . . how fast can YOU say, 'satin-shaded-spalt-Spector' ?

This just in from the re-write desk:

OK, how about 'satin-shaded-spalted-Spector'd' ?

S-p-e-c-t-o-r-d . . . . geez.

But it's a really nice, signed, NY Spector, the 5-string version of Ned Steinberger's landmark design. Some kind of personality quirk that Stuart always steals the cap off one of the keys when he signs one, must have a big bucket full of 'em somewhere.

Somebody buy this and help a newbie pay for his custom before I think of something else !
