1983 Alembic Distillate For Sale

I'm the original owner and the bass and I are in Washington State. This bass hung on the wall of Hoffman's Music store, Spokane WA for almost 8 years before I bought it. Too nice to use live in the kind of places I play and I haven’t done much recording lately so out the door it goes (even though I used to dream about owning an Alembic when I started my career back in 1975). Super-clean condition considering its age-see pictures. I'll describe small flaws as best I can. No marks to speak of on the book-matched walnut front of the instrument and none on the mahogany back either (no buckle rash). Two small marks on the upper body, side. One small mark on the body back by the strap button and a slightly larger mark on the lower body, side (by the lower “horn”). None of these marks are very deep and could be repaired very easily. Will include pictures of all these blems. Frets show minimal use-very light wear. Electronics are perfect but there are no ferrite beads on the pickup leads. Alembic will sell or maybe just send these out at no charge-honestly not sure here so don’t quote me. Do a search if you want to know more about this topic. All the brass parts had the protective finish removed and were mirror polished where possible, although this was done years ago and they have naturally dulled somewhat. IC chip was replaced with lower battery drain version from Alembic but the original is included as well. Two case choices are available and the price of the case is NOT included in the selling price of the instrument…doing this to try and keep things simple. Standard Alembic black hard case price would be $150.00. Anvil ATA flight case made specifically for the Distillate would be $300.00. Both cases are in perfect working order but with slight cosmetic blems from VERY minimal usage. Whichever case is left will go on sale also, or buy them both with the bass. Shipping is NOT included in the selling price of the bass, and of course must be paid for by the buyer. Email me for larger files of the pics OR if the pics for some reason don’t load. All original Alembic paperwork included. $2000.00

Thanks Pace! Shot the pics with my Nikon D70 and I'm thinkng I used the highest quality/largest file size and largest picture size dimensionally as well. Most ended up being around 1MB total. Then I opened them in Microsoft Photo Editor, went to "File" then "Save As" then clicked the "More>>" tab and reduced the "JPEG quality factor" till I got them under the 150KB maximum. Didn't reduce the picture size dimensionally at all though. Hit save and that's it. Probably better ways to do it but it's what I had at work and it was handy and quick. First time doing this so I'm learning as I go and any tips/suggestions are welcome. Cheers!

VERY NICE Distillate - similar to mine though a few years older. Certainly a VERY REASONABLE price that you're asking. It should go quickly. Good luck with your sale. Just out of curiosity, what's the finish on it? Maybe it's the pics (great close-ups) but it looks more like an oiled versus clear coat finish.

Thanks Hammer! Not sure how many kinds of finishes Alembic has used over the years but on this bass it's like a semi-gloss or satin and it gives it kind of an oiled wood look. The back of the neck is a little more glossy looking from being played and I think the rest of the bass could be buffed out and be glossy with minimal work.
