Small standard body with custom knob positions. And, hollow body cut out. Was that done at headquarters, or something someone did afterwards? Never seen a cut out like that before. |

It's technically an Excel - but it's so custom it's hard to even consider it one anymore. Everything looks as I remember on this bass. What you can't really appreciate from the photos is the interior of the hollowed out area is lined in Purpleheart and has a complete high-gloss rubout just like the body. It's actually really really cool. The original owner didn't keep it long, and I know it was sold at least 2 other times. It was at Atlanta Bass Gallery not too long ago - Jim was wishing hard that it was right handed! |
